It wasn’t just the outrageous style, the surge in demand for the six-inch-high Tributes is also attributed to fashion icons such as Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera, who teetered at a number of red carpet events in Britain and America. After selling out in stores, the Tributes collection changed hands on the internet for thousands of dollars….
Next we ask our own "shuzman", Terry Lee Derrick, to take a look at the fall shoe lineup from Yves Saint Laurent:
Give Yves to Me Baby: Yves Saint Laurent is always so French and so runway. YSL’s most fun contribution this year is the tall, chunky, blonde wood heel. You will find them on a grey flannel pump, a black nappa leather pump and a shoe bootie with black lace up spats and grey body in nappa and a black patent toe. All toes are sharp on these steppers.
Pump up the Volume: YSL jumps on the platform with a tulip shaped vamp and way high heels in peep toe, Mary Jane’s, and spectator trims. These shoes also come in various shades of grey and black, from flannel to nappa to patent.
Rhiannon Rides Again: If Stevie Nicks sees this boot she will ride like the wind to get it. It’s a black suede, just-above-mid-calf platform, with round toe, and three or so inches of black patent around the top; with a thin black strip of patent spectator trim down the middle from top to toe. This is definitely the 2007 update, so don’t worry if you bought Mac’s first albums, they won’t think you saved them from college. I love this boot! Also there is a great collection of traditional riding boots in beautiful soft leathers that are as pretty as any I’ve seen."
