shoe stories

that IS the question. Well, that, and, the obvious next question - what shoes do you wear when you DO blog??

What is a blog? I’ve been asked in multiples over the last several months – no way to give a direct answer – a bit of meandering is required. Understanding and accepting community is the foundation that must be first explored. Community is defined by dictionary.com as "a social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society within which it exists." Within our various communities – be they physical or virtual - we are comfortable in our co-existence with trusted confidants who share our passions. We talk openly, develop candid, focused relationships and create life nets that support us personally as well as professionally all the while enabling multi-dimensional collaboration.

simply sexy shoes

Outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair reveal that he has worn the same pair of shoes to every question-and-answer session in parliament since he became the country's leader 10 years ago.

"I know it's ridiculous, but I've worn them for every PMQs (Prime Minister's Questions)," he told the Times.

Blair said he believed cheap shoes were a false economy, adding that he had owned the handmade leather shoes for 18 years and they had only been resoled once.

The new shoe floor on eight is so big it has its own zip code

One Saturday last month Katy Barnes was up at the crack of dawn, ready to embark on her usual weekend routine.

First stop was the shoe department of Selfridges on Oxford Street in central London, then she moved down to Regent Street and to Liberty, then New Bond Street and the boutique of footwear designer Jimmy Choo.

Are you a member of a wine club? Dinner club? Golf club? Bunko group? All of these groups have a common thread that brings people together to celebrate their passion. So simply think of shuzsociety as a unique club or "sisterhood" for shoe divas!!

Hi!

I'm Stephinitely's Muse -- the one she wrote about a few weeks ago -- or shall I say, Stephanie is one of my muses. Let me explain in a roundabout way.

Back around 2000, I was flush with disposable income (and a good credit rating) as a dot-com stockbroker. I had a long-time friend in a woman named Audrey. She was married, I was not. (What I didn't know at the time was that she was trapped in an unhappy marriage.) One thing we had in common was a love of shoes. On weekends when her husband was asleep after his graveyard shift at a convenience store, Audrey and I would walk hand-in-hand through the malls and outlet stores of metro Atlanta, giddy partners-in-crime. She was by my side as I bought for myself a pair of wooden sandals from Hermes ($350), a pair of D&G citrus-smelling thongs with a floral motif, and a pair of alligator mules, both at Neiman Marcus. For her, I bought a pair of jelly Dr. Scholl's at a close-out and a pair of adorable slides by Anne Klein that was filled with red beads in the footbead. As she reached for her checkbook, I whipped mine out faster and started writing. As I wrote, she planted a big kiss on my face. It cemented a relationship as erotic as possible without clothes coming off (unfortunately).

The worst part about blowing out your knee is not the inability to run, exercise or hit the slopes but the fact that...YOU CAN'T WEAR YOUR HIGH HEELS - AHHHGGGGGG! All those cute, sexy, incredible shoes sitting alone in the closet. I thought about offering them to some other size 6 1/2 but decided someday I will recover and would regret such a stupid and hastily made decision. In the meantime, I've been spending a lot of time wearing my grandmother's shoes.

With an ominous bank of dark clouds and the weather persons all in a twit over the storms this evening, it made me stop and think about my "safe place" in the house. After much thought ... oh, about two seconds ... I decided that if I'm going to blow out of this world in a tornado, then my shoes are going with me! Dorothy just took one pair shoes (although cool, red ruby slippers) and her little dog ....

Lanvin Black Cone Sandals
I had NO intention of buying shoes on my last trip into Abersons in Tulsa, but as I slipped on the Lanvin black cone sandals, they spoke to me. They said "you have GOT to take us home with you. You have picked us up from that display no less than 10 times and oh, ... LOOK at how good we look with that black pencil skirt that you need for upcoming functions. Plus, we make you feel empowered, don’t we? Admit it, you love us and have to have us!"
