helping Sister move this weekend was no big deal. she falls far from this apple's tree when it comes to her love of shoes, or lack there of. at the end of the day with her hubby's album collection and her two hanging shoe racks stuffed into my car, i set off towards her new home. filled to the brim there was only room for those shoes (she's a teensy 5.5), myself and my tunes.

zoom-zooming along i channel surfed and settled on a poppy tune, "i kissed a girl." i found myself intrigued by its lyrics, they're easy to follow if nothing else. i'm not making any judgments here just figured it was quite popular with the kiddos. i can't imagine my mother digging it. wonder who this girl is anyway, i thought as i thumped my steering wheel.

fast forward less than 24-hours, i'm sitting at my computer and up pops mercury new's article on katy perry. they call her a pop-tart. she's a cutie, born of preacher parents. i'm initially drawn to those turquoise nicholas kirkwood shoes she's slinks back in. the girls' got some legs and she knows how to dress them. i read on... oooohhh! she's katy perry, that katy perry. she's kissed a girl. hers was the number 1 selling single on itunes week of june 18. she works with celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek. betsey johnson loves her. and mercury news [1] seems to, too. time will tell if she'll be a one-hit wonder, but in the meantime we'll all get to see what's in her closet.
