Friday evening, my lovely wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary by dining at Balthazar, shacking up at the Waldorf and crashing a line of star struck ladies waiting to meet Stuart Weitzman at the new Sak's shoe department. Mr. Weitzman, in addition to being a fine designer, is a crack ping pong player known to hustle games in Chinatown. A fair player myself I decided to bring a paddle and try to get the man to sign it. Sak's was hopping and there was a long line of admirers waiting to have their new shoes signed. I eventually got to the head of the line and introduced myself then whipped out the paddle. The rest is a blur - the paddle was signed - picture attached - I'm aiming to speak to him about more important matters and may or may not get thrashed by the ping pong master.
Aside from the craziness I did inspect the Stuart Weitzman shoe collection at Saks - as usual it was stunning - I recommend going directly to the Weitzman site for a look.
