Michelle Obama: What will her shoes say about her…

On the heels of Denver’s Democratic National Convention, we’ll address tough questions alongside Barack Obama and other Honorables. Michelle Obama, tonight’s headline prime-time speaker, will have an opportunity to share her story. But I ask you…what will she wear? Down there? Will she step out and wear expensive designer shoes and be blasted like McCain’s choicey Ferragamo loafers?

Blacksnob’s blog has offered a nice e-retrospective, concluding Michelle is of contrast, “Usually political wives are confined to a narrow definition of fashion—pantsuits, suit dresses and things a grandmother from the 1950s would wear.” Other bloggers have noticed her dress (and her shoes!): shoeminx, thebudgetfashionista and the nypost. Going Conservative: We’re thinking Mrs. Obama will show in some sort of suit, or suit-hybrid. So why not wear a pair of classic patent leather Salvatore Ferragamo Mary Jane pumps? They offer support and a playful vibe in sparkling blood red. They are serious, but not too. Patriotic all the way.

Stepping it Up: Should Michelle Obama choose a more daring ruffled blouse, we suggest a pair of shoes that say she’s confident, yet hip.
