Terry Lee Derrick is a “shoespert” at a very famous location. He feels that with this fall collection Christian Louboutin has truly surpassed himself.

This season Christian Louboutin has dotted his i’s and especially crossed his T’s with his dark blue and black T-strap. With his usual come**** well you know, heel, this shoe has a medium dark blue round toe with a racing stripe of black nappa leather from the tip of the toe up the middle to a dark blue patent circle around the ankle. This shoe definitely parlez vous’s France.

The season’s hot item definitely is the ankle bootie. As a shoe man on the front lines, let me tell you - his pewter patent booties, with rouching across the front, are selling so fast they can hardly keep them on the shelves. You’d better call your shoe concierge and have them scour the shoeniverse if you want them, because they will likely all be gone before Labor Day!

Another hot item is the studded-all-over, above-the-ankle bootie. Done in grey leather and covered in studs (think Hellraiser III) this is the head turner of the season for sure. Of course you betta’ bring some attitude and the right ensemble. I viewed a private fashion show in Dallas and the studded bootie looked hot with cropped grey pants and an Akris tan and leather cropped jacket. Tan and grey is THE color combo of the season by the way, in case you have been too buried in car pools or boardrooms to take note yet. The studs vary in tone from dull brass to medium and dark grey. Other bootie calls are a black patent with a tiny gold side zipper and a super-hot stiletto heeled leopard print pony hair knee boot. WOOF!

This year CL has designed a sexy, sexy black mule for Neiman Marcus’s 100th anniversary. It has black chiffon gathered in the middle across the foot, and peeking up seductively from the chiffon is a little Cleopatra-esque gold asp ready to strike. This one will get Daddy feeling dangerous.

Louboutin has his staple stiletto pumps, of course: There is patent leopard print, chocolate or black patent - and a black one with a sweet little heart-shape peak scalloped at the front of the vamp, and there is a nice
pointy-toe black patent leather with a criss-cross pattern on the vamp.

In the peep- toe, slingback arena there are some standouts: There are two patent prints; one a large print leopard in a grayish tan and black and the other very
dark blue - also with a animal print pattern. Gold heels are prevalent in the slings and silver and gold heels are prevalent in the whole shoeniverse this year. Patent, platform and metallic are walking into another fall season.

If you are feeling especially foofy there is the black or pink suede T-strap with what resembles a black fluffy shiatsu clinging to the center strap. Also in the poof and foof category is an oh-so-French number; a black pump with a five inch heel and a wide black ribbon swirled, twirled and trailing down the back of it.

Last but impossible to ignore is a mini cowboy boot of pink satin with rhinestone western motif designs.

Christian Louboutin’s shoes were made for talking, and that’s just what they’ll do, so get hold of your “shoespert” now so they can talk all over you!
