Dear shuzsociety:

If you EVER want to see how Texan's party "uptown", attend THE social event of the year in Dallas, TX ... the Cattle Baron's Ball.

Are you a member of a wine club? Dinner club? Golf club? Bunko group? All of these groups have a common thread that brings people together to celebrate their passion. So simply think of shuzsociety as a unique club or "sisterhood" for shoe divas!!

With an ominous bank of dark clouds and the weather persons all in a twit over the storms this evening, it made me stop and think about my "safe place" in the house. After much thought ... oh, about two seconds ... I decided that if I'm going to blow out of this world in a tornado, then my shoes are going with me! Dorothy just took one pair shoes (although cool, red ruby slippers) and her little dog ....

I had NO intention of buying shoes on my last trip into Abersons in Tulsa, but as I slipped on the Lanvin black cone sandals, they spoke to me. They said "you have GOT to take us home with you. You have picked us up from that display no less than 10 times and oh, ... LOOK at how good we look with that black pencil skirt that you need for upcoming functions. Plus, we make you feel empowered, don’t we? Admit it, you love us and have to have us!"

Joni and Cindy accompanied by sole sisters from Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas ventured to L.A. in September, 2003, to attend the second trip organized by Shuz magazine for their Shuz Society members. This is what it's all about ladies ... adventures centered around shoe-shopping and bonding with sole divas from across the country. THIS is where one "Choo" DID in fact change a life!

OK, it's no secret ... I love to celebrate my birthday. Alright, truth is, I celebrate my "birthmonth"!

(My friend's husbands hate me for introducing yet another extravagant concept to their wives, but they'll just have to get over it!)

Sooooo, let's see, what "birthdayshoes" should I wear with my suit today? Hmmmm, considering my partner and I will be introducing ourselves to the president of Manolo Blahnik at Neiman's today, I think I'll wear my leopard Manolo heels I purchased while attending the very first Shuz Society event in NYC ~ "Shuz in the City" ~ that was hosted by Shuz magazine.
