Private Platform
The runways hidden platforms from Alexander McQueen and the patent platforms from Yves Saint Laurent towered over the catwalk. They translated into height hidden underneath a weighty vamp, giving an elegant elongation of the leg. Anthony Cady, professor at F.I.T., adds, “That little bit of extra height hidden always makes the leg and foot look sexy plus the shoe gives the illusion that it's higher than it is making for a more comfortable shoe—a comfortable woman is always sexy.” |

Winged Warrior
It's possible Nicholas Kirkwood pioneered the modern winged shoe, and this season’s designers make their flight’s fancy with their winged and collared inspirations in sturdy, strong silhouettes. In booties or peep-toe pumps, they are far from fussy, allowing your spirit to soar. |

Shoe-per Woman
Women are increasingly stretching themselves too thin and it's tough being all things to all people, especially while being true to one’s self. You simply must be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and get in your shoes and goooooo! Designers are answering the call with their easy-access Velcro® and shoe snap closures, and stretchy elastic straps and bands and sturdier heel shapes. Now it’s easy to save the day in style. |

Almond Toe
The Almond Toe is a classic shape that never goes out of style. While doing research we found examples on toes from the thirties and again in the '60s. Designers from Roger Vivier to Delman appreciate the timelessness of its shape. "It conforms the most to the natural shape of the foot and is the most wearable silhouette," offers designer Monica Favela-George of Gigi Favela, "I sleeked it up with a higher toe box and paired it with my banana perfetto heel for a shoe that's fashion-now yet classic." |

Brogue Booties
The runways of Matthew Williamson—where booties were peppered with croc leathers and textured sides—give way to masculine detailing, with a feminine flair. Laces are key, dainty in their security as are the opulent color palette used to dress them up. |

Going Native
This season we may find ourselves on the fringe of an Indian Summer. Tip-toe through your teepee in decorative suede boots and moccasins as comfy as they are cute. Easy access makes these styles a fashionable must-have. And why not? Sienna Miller and Lindsey Lohan have already fallen for them. |

HOT HEELS under $100
Shoe addictions come in many forms. Some divas only dig heels. Some sole sisters love "labels." Some simply love "LOTS!" With each of these fall heels (ok, and a gladiator flat!) ringing in under a hundred, you can be guilt-free as you practice twelve-steps of tough-love on your sole addiction. |

Wedded Bliss
Wedding Bells are ringing all over. The Today Show is “Racing to the Altar” and allowing its viewers to pick the parts: the couple, the dress, the cake… all of it (except the shoes. The nerve!). Same-sex marriages are topping headlines in The Golden State. And you are stuck being the bridesmaid (again) for your favorite third cousin, twice removed. Thankfully there are as many matrimonial shoe options as there are ceremonies.
As your footwear authority, shuzsociety has chosen a bouquet of bridal shoes fit for any aisle. While we curtsey to traditional choices, we’d like to mix-up the shoes for your “I Do’s.” From sky-high, slinky snakeskin sandals to more tailored, bowed gems and from the luxuriously dressy to the definitely dressed-down, you’ll find your forever-love footwear fix. |
