Now that the Republican National Convention is upon us, we’d like to offer Mrs. Cindy McCain a few showy shoe options for her noticeably sophisticated style. She’s not one to sway far from a well-defined suit, and loves (loves!) her flashy pearls. On the campaign trail, she often steps out in nude colored classic pumps and has been spotted in a classic cap-toe ballet flat from Chanel.
In a recent Salt Lake Tribune interview, shoe expert ”Miss” Meghan Cleary says of Mrs. McCain’s propensity towards high heels, ''the heel is solid, not a stiletto. The choice tells me she wants to be on stable ground… She's always in heels. It must be the former beauty queen in her.'' She AND veep hopeful Palin. shuzsociety has compiled a group of shoes we’d recommend on her campaign trail.

Classic First Lady: Classic in design, these fleshy-colored almond-toe “Zerene” pumps by Bally are dressed up by their use of ultra-shiny ostrich leather. They are at once sophisticated and daring.

Bally classic pump with 4” heel. $950 At Net-a-porter.com.
Sister Golden Hair: To mimic her sweeping golden up-do that she fancies so frequently, we choose a suede leather high-vamp pump by Elie Tahari with a similar golden metallic trim. Very stately.

Elie Tahari “Francesca” peep-toe suede pump in Pebble. $529 At Zappos.com.
Conservative with an Edge: Oscar de la Renta has been favored by First Ladies Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton, and these peep-toe Mary Jane pumps with the tortoise-shell heel might suit her well.

Oscar de la Renta leather platform pumps with 4 ½” heels. Black. $725 At Net-a-porter.com.
Stepping Outside the Box: Cindy McCain certainly likes her subtle colors. She can pair this pair of elongated-vamp gray satin pumps by Christian Lacroix with any number of her light pink, yellow or flesh-colored jackets. The frayed edges on the bow will give her an updated stance.

Christian Lacroix satin split-front pump with frayed bow and 3 ½” heel. Style: 984843. $494 At Zappos.com.
Keeping up with the Jeans: The jeans. The jeans. Barefoot, she appeared in a Vogue spread then was splashed about CNN and YouTube for her fashion choice. We can guess Mrs. McCain won’t appear on stage in denim, but if she did…she’d do well with this stately pair of suede leather pumps by Juicy Couture. (A decidedly classic shoe for Juicy!)

Juicy Couture “Natasha” chain-detail pinked and perforated pump with 1 ½” heel. $242 At Zappos.com.

she picked a winner!
during the opening night of the republican national convention, cindy mccain wasn't wearing the Oscar de la Renta Mary Jane's i had suggested for her, but she WAS wearing a classic patent leather peep-toe pump, as reported by the New York Observer... "Mrs. McCain went with considerably higher, coquettish black peep-toe pumps—hot!—and an imposing mustard-yellow dress that Salon called a "rain slicker."
